Alva- New bulb innovation

The light from Alva is sufficiently bright to read, but is not bright enough to hurt one’s eyes. Though several lighting firms still sell reproductions of those early Edison bulbs, they are too bright to look at.

The Alva light bulb is a lamp that is entirely hand-crafted and assembled. The lamp is 17.5 inches tall and 8.5 inches wide and it basically consists of three parts: a ceramic base, a glass bulb and the filament. The ceramic base and the glass bulb are made by experts and the filament is shaped by Anderson himself. All the three are then assembled by hand into a finished lamp.
One interesting feature of this lamp is that the LED light bulb used in this also helps in keeping the lamp cool, keeping it from heating up. Also, if the LED bulb needs to be changed, it can easily be done by just undoing three screws.

The innovation has reached its pledged goal of $4000 and it is believed that the project will take of in August this year. We are waiting eagerly for this wonderful innovation to enter the market and prove its mettle!
